For those who do not know, most digital cameras can shoot and store images in a native format known as RAW. This type of image is taken directly from the lens exposure with minimal processing. Unlike other formats such as the JPG, the RAW format has an exceptionally high quality that gives the photographer the freedom to process as desired. Besides, the errors in the RAW format can be easily corrected unlike when the file has been compressed and processed into other formats such as the JPG. However, the downside of using this format is that most image editing applications do not support it.
The user can modify or edit RAW images.
The application supports a wide variety of cameras such as Panasonic, Samsung, Sigma, Sony, Hasselblad, Kodak, Konica Minolta, Canon, Casio, Epson, Fujifilm, Leaf, Leica, Mamiya, Nikon, Nokia, and Olympus. Moreover, the application can also handle other file formats such as After Effects, Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Bridge and Adobe Lightroom.
Adobe Camera Raw for Mac is licensed as freeware for Mac OS operating system. It is in graphic editors category and is available to all software users as a free download.
