Instrument for scientific computing"
A review by John

If you’re a scientist, researcher or a part of educational institutions or companies, then you could get a lot of use out of this piece of software because it will allow you to work on multiple projects while making good use of your computer’s resources in order to process a significant amount of data as a volunteer. The beauty of this app is that it will only put your resources to use when you’re not using them yourself, which means it won’t interfere with your daily tasks. What’s more, the projects available deal with many different subjects, such as physics, astronomy, math, chemistry, and more.

This app also allows you to run performance tests on your CPU, and it features SOCKS and HTTP proxy support, among other useful things. The built-in manager also allows users to keep track of the projects you’re volunteering for, and it also allows you to organize your tasks and communicate with other teams and volunteers so you can share resources and other things. You can decide how many resources the app can use, and overall it’s a great program that will help you be a part of projects that are interesting to you.

BOINC is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in science category and is available to all software users as a free download.
