Convert DXF and DWG (AutoCAD) files to ArcMap, ArcGIS"
A review by John

AutoCAD is a 2-D and 3D computer-aided drafting software application. It is mostly used in architecture, construction, and manufacturing industries to help in the design of blueprints and engineering plans. This utility is a software which enables you to convert AutoCAD® DXF or DWG documents to ESRI Shapefiles (ArcGIS®, ArcMap, ArcView), Surfer Blanking (BLN) and XYZ.

The application features a plain and intuitive Windows layout which offers access to the available functions. There is also a help file in case you come across difficulties moving forward.

You can select and load the files you want to convert via the file browser, and the application will display the file name, modification date, size, and type. You can either stick to the default settings and choose the destination directory and complete the conversion process or configure the settings as you desire.

In conclusion, this application comes in handy for loading AutoCAD documents and converting them to other file formats.

It is part from architecture / cad category and is licensed as shareware for Windows 32-bit and 64-bit platform and can be used as a free trial until the trial period will end. The CAD2Shape demo is available to all software users as a free download with potential restrictions and is not necessarily the download of the full version.
