CDs and DVDs can become corrupted over time. When this happens, you cannot access their files. This is where CDCheck comes into play – it can quickly recover the damaged files or the entire contents of the disk. The user interface is simple yet effective and all actions have a very useful wizard that guides you through the entire process. You don’t need previous experience to use this tool and a help file is also included with each copy. The first thing you can do is check the disk for any kind of errors and recover the files and folders that are unaccessible.
You can select how many times the program tries to access each sector of the disk before it marks it as Unreadable. You can also compare folder and file sizes and calculate similarity – this enables you to find specific files with ease. The program can make different hashes, including CDC32 and MD5. All actions are carefully stored into logs that are presented to the user after each procedure. Statistics are also displayed in these logs. And, of course, a history of actions can be copied to the clipboard or saved on the hard drive or removable media for later viewing.
