CheckDiskGUI

Interface for CHKDSK command"
A review by John

This is the GUI version of the handy command-line utility CHKDSK which performs read-only tasks to check out for disk errors, as well as fix logical errors. Almost everyone can use this version as it features quite an intuitive Graphical User Interface dissimilar to the command-line version which could only be understood by advanced users who are familiar with Windows CMD. The interface of this GUI version is well-structured to present you with quick access links to all the features of the app. You can now click on a drive letter to carry out a scan that will display results with the following details: the drive’s free space, label, type, and DirtyBit status. These details are shown in a message box.

You can print the results or save them as TXT files. Also, on the different menus available on the main window, you can reload the drives, enable sounds, re-scan all cluster to check for errors, as well as run other handy actions. Furthermore, it may interest you to know that this app does not consume much memory, and as such, it will not cause your PC to slow down in performance. The program is truly helpful, and its GUI is straightforward to understand.

CheckDiskGUI is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in hard disk utilities category and is available to all software users as a free download.
