Chromas

For simple DNA sequencing projects"
A review by John

Over time, a vast array of applications has been created that fit into the most diverse categories, and by some of these categories, we can all be interested. Just as there are gaming apps, there are also educational apps. This is an example of an educational and research application. This program is an application made to simulate the DNA and the chromosomes string.

With this application, you will be able to print a chromatogram as well as have the luxury of printing it out in a pdf format. It is basically meant to help you with DNA sequencing and tracing the view of the DNA that has been sequenced.

When you make a display of a DNA sequence, it makes 3 frames along the sequence in which you can build your image on. It also has a plugin that allows you to export data from external DNA sequencing software, take for example if you have an image from applied Biosystems DNA sequencer, able to view the image on this application. Another thing you will love about this software is that it gives you the ability to print out your sequence or export your sequences in a text, FASTA, FASTQ, GCG format.

It is part from science category and is licensed as shareware for Windows 32-bit and 64-bit platform and can be used as a free trial until the trial period will end. The Chromas demo is available to all software users as a free download with potential restrictions compared with the full version.
