Do you have a gigantic CSV file such as with 500,000 or more lines and the programs you work with can’t process so much data from a single file? Don’t worry; there is a free solution to your problem: CSV Splitter Polderij. This little utility was designed to do one thing: split a large CSV into several smaller files. Also, the utility is portable, so you don’t have to install it. All you have to do is download it, place it on a flash drive and take it with you anywhere it is needed. The user interface is quite simple and straightforward to use, so even novice users will quickly be able to use the tool at its full potential.
Drag&drop is not supported yet. The program has options to include the header row into each of the files it generates, and to insert the column header in the very first row of each file.
The downside of such a small and portable tool is the fact that it does not allow you to specify a file name for the output files. The smaller CSVs are created in the same folder as the original file and each one gets a suffix.
