Architects and engineers draw models before implementing the actual project. The FreeCAD software allows you to create and to draw geometric concepts and develop both 2D and 3D animations with other complex shapes in a computer.It runs on a comprehensive Graphical User Interface (GUI) platform to allow sketching and drawing of 2D and 3D shapes and objects for graphical presentation. It also runs on command mode which remotely uses the graphical interface to still draw the animations. It uses geometric concepts to produce components from other programs. It supports the creation and modification of parameters like rotation, translation, matrices, transformation, enlargement, conversion of shapes among others.
The interface has multifunctional program that allows to develop many projects through importation and exportation projects like MCAD, PLM, CAX, CAE and 3D CAD. It supports major file formats like SVG, BMG, JPG, and SVG among others. It also supports 2D animation with the following additional features: rotation, transfer, edit, scale function and delete function. As well as 3D objects. The software can use the boolean function, merge option and cut objects.
Geometric concepts can be modified on a Python console in built in the interface to support graphical simulation of complex part of objects design. It is a simple interface but need a little knowledge of graphical integration to draw a high quality 2D and 3D animation.
FreeCAD is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in architecture / cad category and is available to all software users as a free download.
