FreeOCR

Extract text from images and save to Word or Notepad"
A review by Andrew

With the program FreeOCR you can save you a lot of time when you try to get text from images or scanned documents into your text processor (such as Word). The tool is able to open images or PDF files and extract all text and save it to a TXT or Microsoft Word document.

You can extract text from all pages or just from a selected part. Is able to zoom in/out or to rotate your source document (useful because often scanned documents aren't in the correct orientation).

Once you have source file selected, just click OCR and text will appear in a separate panel. Then you can copy it to another document or save it as TXT or Word document. Also, you can edit text before save it.

FreeOCR is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in ocr tools category and is available to all software users as a free download.
