This is a molecular biology analysis program that is specially designed to help geneticists and biologists easily perform gene analysis. To run the analysis, you will need to manually input DNA or protein sequences or import SEQ format files that contain sequence data from your local storage.
Using the ‘Restriction Analysis’ function, you can check a specific portion of the DNA sequence, by inputting the desired cut sites. You can also make an analysis on the palindromic or non-palindromic enzymes or simply choose to analyze all the types.
Once the SEQ file has been loaded, you can proceed to analyze the data by clicking on the ‘ORF’ (Open Reading Frame) button which will prompt you to set the Nucleotides or Amino Acids size and also the ‘Translation Table’ you want to use.
Gene Runner is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in science category and is available to all software users as a free download.
