HardLink ShellExtension

CReate HardLinks and SymbolicLinks to avoid duplicate files"
A review by John

In Unix systems, there are two links that can be created: Hard Links and Symbolic Links. Symbolic links are no different from Windows desktop shortcuts, they simply point to the location of a file. While hard links are the files symbolic links connect to but with a different name.

Hard links provide an efficient way to organize files without taking up your system storage space. They can store a single in multiple folders, even though there’s only one copy on the system. Although Windows command prompt can create hard links, it requires programming knowledge and its very strenuous. And it becomes even more difficult when creating hard links for multiple files.

This tool allows you to create hard links or symbolic links on your Windows PC. Once installed, the hard link option will be added to your Windows context menu. You can now create new hard links by right-clicking on a file or folder and select the link source.

You can create a hard link of a single file or multiple files at once. These links can be distinguished by a red arrow icon under the folder.

In conclusion. it offers an easy and efficient way to create hard and symbolic links.

HardLink ShellExtension is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in os enhancements category and is available to all software users as a free download.
