Games based on DOS interface may not present the rich graphics that modern 3D games have, but the deficit in graphics does not diminish the fun and engagement of such games. Liero can better be described as a war game on the world of worms. The excellent feature of this game is that it allows the player to play with the artificial intelligence (AI) feature of the computer or play online by competing with other users across the globe.
The battle of the worms is located in the dirt where they live among rocks and other obstacles. The weapons of the worms include shotguns and more. The worms use the weapons to destroy anything that stands in their path including the landscape. Besides the weapon, the players also have a rope in the arsenal that could be lashed on the enemy in a Ninja-like fashion to draw closer to defeat the enemy. Besides using the rope in an attack, it can also be used in navigating the area to seek the assailants in hiding. A classic and still interesting game.
Liero is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in arcade category and is available to all software users as a free download.
