Phone calls are a way to communicate with loved ones and business partners, both within a short range or over long distances. Wireless or mobile communication has been the main medium for phone calls over the years leaving the landline that came before it behind. We are all used to making phone calls with our mobile devices that most of us are unaware that we can make these calls using our computer.
This is a multiprotocol telephony software that allows you to use your PC or laptop to make phone calls to landlines, cell phones and VOIP applications. The application uses Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) for VoIP call signalization and comes with support for CAPI, TAPI and VoIP. These calls are possible through server-based infrastructure or direct IP to IP connection.
The user interface is plain and intuitive enough for every level of users. Inputting of the phone number of the person you want to call is through the traditional dial buttons. It comes with a default number for you and you can enable the application to transmit it to your callers/receivers. The application also features a phone book in which you can store numbers.
You can adjust the volume for the microphone and speakers, send texts and emails, record incoming/outgoing calls, set up an answering machine, and configure the CAPI, TAPI and VoIP settings.
The application provides an alternative way to connect with people in the event you’re without your mobile phone.
Phoner is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in voip category and is available to all software users as a free download.
