Racer

This is a car simulation game which offers you realistic car driving experience with near accurate car movements and sensitive controls. With the game being open source, you are only provided with the basics; few cars and tracks. After downloading the game, you still have to go to the game’s website to add more cars and tracks. The first action you should take when you start the game is to configure the control to your preference. You can assign new keys that you think is suitable for you to the controls such as brake and accelerate.

To start the race, you can choose the number of cars you want to race against, select a car and track, but these are only available after you have downloaded them from the game’s website. The car handling is realistic from starting the car to turning off the engine. You start the car exactly the way you do in real life; turn on the engine, get your revs up and shift into first gear before you can move. But the gear indicator is unclear which makes it hard to determine the level gear you are in.

Overall, the game being open source gives it potential and a bright future, but you still have to frequent the website in order to obtain new features.
