This utility app is wholly decentralized, an open source app that allows you to establish encrypted connections between a network of computers, and offers diverse distributed services (channels, forums, chat, mail, and more). With this user-friendly app, you will be able to communicate and share files with other people in a decentralized, private, and secure platform. Dissimilar to other PC apps that functions alike, this app allows you to create encrypted connections between known systems; this is more secure and offers more privacy than in other similar apps.
The interface is appropriately organized with tabs so that both beginners and advanced PC user can be able to use this app. In the newsfeed tab, you’ll find all your messages with their full details, while in other tabs you will gain access to other features of this app such as view your friends’ list, share files, enter chat lobbies, and other supported features. All the tabs are available on the left module.
You can launch the settings dialogue box by clicking on the settings gear icon at the top of the interface window. Also, it is possible to perform voice and video calls on this app when you install the VoIP plugin. Finally, this app can be used on Tor and I2P networks if you do not want other members to see your IP address.
RetroShare is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in file sharing category and is available to all software users as a free download.
