Simple MTU Test

Test for fragmented packets"
A review by John

It’s always a good thing to be able to test your Internet connection in case you ever need to adjust settings and make it better, stronger. There are many apps out there that allow you to do that, but this one is straightforward and user-friendly. The app tests your Internet connection by sending packets and determining if any of them are broken. In case you didn’t know, MTU, which stands for Maximum Transmission Unit, is a value that represents the largest packet of data your Internet can download to your computer. As you can imagine, this value is significant when it comes to determining the performance of your connection, and it requires the proper configuration.

This piece of software allows you to determine what’s the proper configuration for your MTU by running a series of tests to decide what’s the average size of the packets’ fragmentation. The app works quickly, and it doesn’t modify anything on your computer or settings, but it does provide all the information you need to put everything in order. What’s more, the app is portable, which means it doesn’t require any installation and you can use it on any computer you wish if you carry it on a removable drive.

Simple MTU Test is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in network testing category and is available to all software users as a free download.
