This is another solution for optical character recognition. Not all programs are accurate because the documents are different regarding the quality of the image. In order to get perfect extractions, we need images with visible text. Also, the shape of the letters must not be changed.
SimpleOCR can work in 2 modes, one with text typed on keyboard which is free and one with hand written text which is available in a paid upgrade. The interface is pretty old. You can add pages from local hard disk or from scanner. Also supports batch processing.
Allows to zoom in or out and after conversion to text it will highlight words that are not recognized and suggests replacements for those words. You can replace them instantly, skip or save them as text. At the end you can save text as text or in a Word file.
