Are you a network administrator or you in charge of a host of computers linked by a wireless network? Then you need an application that can allow you to turn on remote computers through a wireless network without the need to turn them on manually. This application enables you to start up remote computers by sending them a Wake-on-LAN (WOL) command.
It automatically scans your network and obtains the MAC address and IP address of all the computers connected to the network. It comes with a simple and minimalistic user interface.
To send a Wake-on-LAN packet to a computer on the network, you need to select the IP address and MAC address of the computer from the drop-down lists on the main menu and hit on the “Wake Up PC” button. After which the application will prompt you that magic Wake-on-LAN packets have been sent to the computer and later show that the computer has been powered up.
You can check the IP and MAC address of your PC, send multiple Wake-on-LAN packets or resend the packet at a specified time interval. You enable the application to monitor the remote computer after sending the packet and calculate the broadcast IP addresses.
All in all, the application comes in handy for starting up remote computers without having to do it directly.
SolarWinds Wake-On-LAN is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in remote tools category and is available to all software users as a free download.
