Text editors are computer software applications that allow you to open, view and edit plain text files. While the main purpose of text editors is to read and write text files, it can also be employed by programmers to write and edit codes and scripts of different programming languages. It displays the list of all the files you have recently opened at the left section of the main window, enabling you to easily them.
It enables you to insert timestamp (short and long), page breaks, folder listing and paths. You can perform a multi-file search, that is you can search for a particular text in different files at once and also replace the texts without another one. It is capable of opening files from a remote FTP server, edit and save them to the server. Using the command line tool, you can integrate the application with Unix tools and scripts.
You can choose a particular color for codes written in various programming languages, including Java, Objective-C and Fortran. All in all, the application caters for the ordinary user that wants to just edit text files and the programmer that wants to use it to write and edit codes.
