This game is similar to the Sega’s Master of Monsters and Warsong. It revolves exploring the game world, building large army units by capturing villages and eliminating opposition armies to obtain more experience. It features different creatures and races such as humans, dwarves, trolls, each have their own strengths and weaknesses. You can perform different kinds of combat attacks, use various weapons types while the amount of damage you can deal on your enemies is either augmented or reduced by the day-night cycle.
It features up to 15 campaigns and each have their own kind of conflict. You can be set in the middle of a conflict between two orc tribe. All these details are important as the battle terrain determines a unit’s defense, for example, elves are hard to hit on the forest.
It can be played as a single-player or online multiplayer with other people around the world. There is a tutorial which can put you through the game functions and features.
The Battle for Wesnoth is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in strategy category and is available to all software users as a free download.
