Email programs such Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and Hotmail can save your contacts as VCF files. However, other programs or mobile devices can’t use the data from these files because they only work with CSV (Comma Separated Values). This is when you need a program such as VCFs2CSV that can convert all those vCard files to one large CSV file. This utility is a command-line program, so it doesn’t have a user interface. To use it, you type the commands into the CMD and press Enter to run them.
If you are somewhat advanced or you like working directly with the program, this is the tool for you. This tool does not require installation, so you just download it, type your commands and convert VCFs to CSVs. To access the utility, you call it from the Command Prompt utility that comes with all Windows operating systems. The utility only requires you to select the directory that contains the VCF files. As soon as you do this, will parse all the files and generates a CSV file. It is a very fast processing tool, useful to process many files.
Instructions
- copy the file VCFs2CSV.exe on C:
- in Command Promt, type cd .. until you go back to C:
- enter the command vcfs2csv.exe c:folder
