Released in 2008, Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War Soulstorm is the third expansion pack for the popular Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, strategy game. The expansion features both multiplayer and campaign modes.
The campaign cover more than 30 territories and takes a casual gamer at least 30 hours to play. You can play with your opponent as much as you like, but don’t let the AI expand too much or you’ll quickly find yourself in quite a bit of trouble. The AI is well-designed and has a versatile style; expect to take heavy losses each game and be aware that you may sometimes lose a game even on Easy difficulty. Also, each race receives a new, unique aerial unit in this expansion.
In Multiplayer mode, you can play over Local Area Connection (LAN) or using the Gamespy network. Players earn medals online; however, you can’t see the medals earned by other players. So the medal system is more for your own history.
You have to capture strategic points in order to have more units. Slaves will build new constructions for army and your headquarter. This expansion pack is a solid addition to the Warhammer franchise and has received a 7 out of 10 score on IGN.
It is part from strategy category and is licensed as shareware for Windows 32-bit and 64-bit platform and can be used as a free trial until the trial period will end. The Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War Soulstorm demo is available to all software users as a free download with potential restrictions compared with the full version.
