WinDirStat

This tool can find, sort and delete largest files"
A review by Andrew

Many people have found themselves running out of hard disk space at various times during their Windows experience. When you install a new program, you can find that there is suddenly not enough space on the disk. This is certainly one of the most annoying things that can happen to the Windows user. Now you can quickly analyze your partitions and get a list of all files, subfolders and folders that occupy each partition. By using WinDirStat, you can easily see all the relevant details about all the files on the partition and find the largest ones by sorting after size. In addition, you can see when files have been modified and what percentage of the total available space they’re consuming.

The program allows you to copy the path to any file to the clipboard by right-clicking its entry. You can then open the path in Windows Explorer and find even hidden files. You can also empty the Recycle Bin from within the program and also display unknown items in various folders and subfolders on your hard drive.

This tool gives you unparalleled access to the file system; no file will be able to hide from your eye. However, you should be careful what you delete because some files are required by the operating system and you may end up with errors on Windows OS if you delete them indiscriminately.

WinDirStat is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in disk analyzer category and is available to all software users as a free download.
