Record the traffic in a network and make security adjustements"
A review by John

As a system administrator, you need to keep records of all network traffic activities so as to make careful analysis in the situation where any form of error occurs. An application that can help you keep these records is York. It analyzes and parse network packets, and captures transmitted files. The application is primarily designed for professional network administrators.

The application opens up to a clean and comprehensive multi-tabbed user interface. Upon deployment, the application begins logging your network traffic and under the “Packet” tab, you can view the time, addresses, port number and packet size for each host. It allows you to capture and store transmitted HTTP and FTP files, capture packets and cookies to analyze them.

In addition, you can view captured images in either full-screen or slideshow mode, perform search operations, write logs into a MySQL database and track a specific user’s browsing session.

When it comes to network traffic monitoring, this is an application you can always bank on.

York is licensed as freeware for PC or laptop with Windows 32 bit and 64 bit operating system. It is in network analyzer category and is available to all software users as a free download.
